Asos Sliding Knot Bracelet

After visiting ASOS and seeing some little neon bracelets, I’ve decided to integrated them into the jewelry DIY's. Today I’ll be showing you how to make a sliding knot bracelet with an eye charm similar to those ones.

Woven Charm Bracelet

This is a nice bracelet, it can be made in such different ways only by changing the colour of the floss and the charm attached to it.I t's a good idea for spring and summer with all the neon colours or pastels to wear. So grab some of that embroidery floss and let’s get weaving!

You’ll need:
·         embroidery floss
·           chain
·         7 any charms you like
·         7 5mm jump rings
·         2 7mm jump rings
·         7 headpins
·         1 lobster clasp
·         2 bobby pins
·         chain nose pliers and flat pliers

Start by cutting 8 strands of embroidery floss, with each strand measuring four times the length of the curb chain. Knot all the threads together, leaving about an inch and a half of slack. Separate the bunch into 2 groups of 4 strands. To easily weave the threads through the links of the chain, sandwich them between bobby pins. Clip the ends with a wire cutter if they are too big to go through the chain links. Lay the threads to the left of the bracelet and pull the right set from under the first link.

Pull the strands through the link and over the top of the left side. Lay the left set over the right set.

Pull it from under the same link and through.

Drap the set over the top left and now lay the other set on top. Pull the top set from under the second link and through.

Once it’s pulled through the link, cross it over to the left and place the other set on top. Pull the top set from under the second link and through again. Notice each set goes through a link once – so twice total. Keep braiding.

Knot the strands together at the end and trim away any excess floss.

Thread a skull bead(as I used in the picture) or any bead/charm onto a headpin. I added a small gold bead because the opening of the skull bead was too large. Using chain nose pliers, fold the headpin 45 degrees to the left. While pinching the headpin, wrap the pin around the right side of the pliers.

Hold the loop tightly with the pliers and wrap the rest of the pin around the base of the loop 2-3 times. Trim away any excess wire.

Space out the charms and attach them with to the opposite side of the chain part of the bracelet with jump rings.
Continue adding charms. Add a clasp to the end of the bracelet with a large jump ring. Add a large jump ring to the other side to complete the clasp.

Here are other models you can make, they seem pretty interesting to me.

If you don't want soo many skulls you can add just one at end of the woven bracelet on a head pin to bind the end of the bracelt to the clasp.

 Enjoy making them!

Neon statement necklace

After seeing all over beautiful statement necklaces, I really wanted to create one for myself. To recreate my version of these pieces, I used black-eyed beans since they are the sizes that I was looking for, they are super cheap and they can be transformed into any color you like! So if you want to make a fun and eco-friendly statement necklace using beans here are a few simple steps.

Chevron pattern for friendship bracelets

Originally, these colorful bands were invented by Indians in Central and South America. According to tradition, you tie a bracelet onto the wrist of a friend who may wish for something at that moment. The bracelet should be worn until it is totally worn-out and falls off by itself, at which moment the wish is supposed to come true.
Today friendship bracelets seem to be appearing on the wrists of everyone from children to grandparents. These bracelets are often made of embroidery thread or yarn and can be woven into many intricate patterns. Some are even made with beads or chain woven into the design or other materials. The technique is relatively simple, requires no special equipment and can be done with inexpensive materials, making and sharing friendship bracelets is something nearly everyone can do.
In this post I'll show you how to make step by step a classic chevron pattern for a friendship bracelet.

What you need:
  • embroidery thread
  • a safety pin or tape
  • a pair of scissors
